Relations between Brazil and Uruguay




The relations between Brazil and Uruguay are the subtle relations between the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay .Relations are neighbors with strong historical, cultural and geographical. The exceptionality of the relations between the two countries stems from the physically powerful historical connection, marked by important events, such as the concern ofColonia del Sacramento in 1680 , its takeover by Brazil and the subsequent creation of Cisplatina in 1815 , and the independence of Uruguay in relation to Brazil in 1828 . 1
The signing of the Treaty of Asunción in 1991 , ushered in a period of increase political, economic and diplomatic.

On July 30 of 2010 , the former president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva , and the President of Uruguay, José Mujica , signed cooperation agreements in various areas such as defense, science, technology, energy, river transportation and fishing, with the hope of accelerating political and economic integration between these two neighboring countries.
On June 30 of 2011 , the current president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff , in a meeting with José Mujica in Uruguay, Brazil strained the priority of cooperation in infrastructure, with the completion of the creation of the bulldoze involving the cities of Cacequi the Santana do deliverance , the Brazil-Uruguay border , and technology, with support for project in the areas of biotechnology , nanotechnology , and information technology . 2
